Not sure how he ended up choosing Mizzou over the other offers he had, but it seems like he liked the idea of building something new as opposed to joining an established program.

Hughes came on board months later after he and Louisville parted ways (released him from his LOI after their NCAA sanctions). Being teammates with Jackson gave us the in.
