do we need to run through the roster of outstanding players he had? Maclin, Rucker, Coffman, etc.
BUT, Chase was a cut above - just like Maclin is. These guys were special. Chase could read a defense. Chase knew what ball to throw and to whom. He could diagnose and then surgically dissect a defense like no one else in Mizzou history. It was a thrill to watch every game. Bambino's had a blow-up of the Sports Illustrated cover with him and several of his "supporting cast" framed on the wall when we were ranked #1 in the country (until OU the next week). I never thought I would see that in my lifetime having lived through powerw, widenhofer, stull and smith. I'm still GOLL DURN euphoric about it. DADGUM!
