Rhule's Temple improved with each game as the season progressed. They started out losing their first 6 games, a dreadful 0-6. Then this is what happened in their final 6 games:
vs Army........ W 33–14 (19-point win)
@ SMU......... L 49-59 (close loss)
@ Rutgers..... L 20-23 (one-possession loss)
vs UCF (#15)... L 36-39 (one-possession loss)
vs UConn....... L 21-28 (one-possession loss)
@ Memphis..... W 41-21 (20-point win)
They crushed Army and Memphis, and took #10 UCF to the wire (36-39) in a hard-fought game. UCF went on to beat #6 Baylor in a BCS Bowl that year and finished with a top 10 ranking nationally:

Most of those other teams mentioned were not that bad either.
It was an impressive final 6 games, with 2 blowout wins and 4 hard-fought games. The team got better and better, as opposed to our team this season which is getting worse and worse under Odom.
With that said, the season isn't over yet. If Odom can reverse the momentum, win a couple games, avoid blowout losses, end the season on a high note, and land a solid recruiting class... things that Matt Rhule was able to accomplish his first season, then the outlook and perception of Odom will change accordingly.
