the job here, if he had been completely truthful:
"I would like to thank the university for choosing me to be the next head coach here at Missouri, when they could have hired one of many others who have actually been head coaches before, and had success at it. I have none.
I am going to have to learn on the job, so you shouldn't expect immediate success from me or my teams. In fact you shouldn't expect any success for several years. Its going to get worse here first, before it gets better, because being a head coach is going to be a big learning experience for me. I'm going to make mistakes, both big and small, as I gain valuable experience and learn to be a great head coach.
But I can promise you this. I have never failed in anything before in my life. I promise you that after a few of the worst seasons you have ever seen here, by my 4th year as head coach, when they are all my recruits, running my system, with my excellent hand picked assistant coaches, I will lead Missouri to a 6-6 record and get Mizzou back to a crappy bowl game, for the first time in 5 years, in some place no one has ever heard of.
Until then, thank you, and thanks for your support."
