people were on him for not taking Young. But, as has been reported, all the guys didn't not like him and that is an important consideration.

But, more importantly, as fiji noted, Mike had only 1 scholarship to offer when the season started and it was a maybe for Dewitt and a definitely for Porter.

We needed a big guy desperately.

It wasn't until Underwood quit that we had a second scholarship to offer and by then Young had been committed to Ark for 3 months. And he probably had signed in November.

So yes, Anderson did fuk us in a way, but it was not because he quit recruiting. His mistake was getting us into such a weird position where we had so few spots to offer and then no real backup plan after Porter.

Ultimately, it was worth all the problems created to get ride of Mike and make a fresh start. Alden just screwed up that opportunity.
