I harken back to Albert White joining us mid-season in 1997

He was a McDonald's All-American who had averaged 9 ppg as a freshman on an NCAA tournament team at Michigan loaded with future NBA players. He was expected to step in immediately and dominate for our fairly mediocre to poor team. Took him awhile to find his footing. Averaged only 10.9 ppg his first season for us on another mediocre squad.

Barnett averaged 1.9 ppg as a freshman on a mediocre Texas team and couldn't find the floor as a sophomore. That's why my expectations are tempered. I may be comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm guessing Albert would average 28 ppg and a triple double on this year's squad.

I do look forward to seeing what Barnett can do.
