be' do you not think they have the ability and the will to take him out one way or another, either before the election or after?

Pence seems to be an 'establishment guy' and they didn't shy away from taking Kennedy out. If anything, they seem to have consolidated and grown their power & influence since the 1960s.

If there is such a threat and even if Trump was somehow oblivious to it, I would think they would let it be known to him if they really considered him a threat to their goals.
