and did not try and induce others to act in ways that were not in their own best interests... but it doesn't destroy the foundations of the free market system.
It primarily hurts the individual(s) who are fooled and do not make decisions that are in their own best interests.
I do think that if some people or organizations get too much wealth and power they can begin to use it to subvert the political system, however, and that can destroy the foundations of a society. Again that is more likely when the moral foundations are already beginning to erode.
I think that is where we are at at the moment. Some uber wealthy people have gained control of the political system, economic system, media & the school systems and they are not very moral people. They don't have the best interests of society at heart.
