The people "in charge" are going to do everything they can to remain in power. the people "in charge" are the ones deciding who can be on a ballot, who can/can't vote, deciding all kinds of rules, and most importantly, they are the ones counting the votes.

All you are talking about are bells and whistles and distractions, all for keeping up the illusion of validity and legitimacy, the illusuion that the people are the deciders
