Per the question. I am for pretty generous and open immigration policies. We have so many "illegals" now b/c our policies might be too restrictive. I don't know what you mean by "open borders".
Couldn't tell you what "open hemispheric trading areas" means but if it is much like NAFTA - not so much. If one opens borders for trade, one needs to open borders for migration.
Public and private policies ? Wow, taking this too fare are you ? Don't know much about politics, do you? Of course there may be occasions one's public stated official positions might conflict might be held with privately held notions. As long as one makes official acts based on public, I don't see a problem, whereas if one talks one game to the public and then acts in an official capacity under a different private policy, that could be a problem.
Fat cats have long taken care of themselves and we as a nation should monitor and regulate them under the strictest parameters.
