term expenses like home improvement/repair, auto repair, anticipated future large ticket items, etc.

If you constantly dig into those buckets for day to day stuff either cut your day to day spending or lower the budget and plans in those other areas, but always budget IF you are concerned about future needs or cash-strapped.
