Politics is all for show. I recently saw a great quote, maybe on this board, from Frank Zappa. Basically he said "Politics is the entertainment division of the military-industrial complex" If you substitute deep state for military-industrial complex you got it nailed.

It is all a circus meant to create the illusion of democracy. They all work for the same people.

Trump is this year's designated loser. He is fully aware of this and is obviously playing that role. Frankly, his performance has been a little bit too over the top.
