along with people who don't bother to realize that Russia is a shell of its former self in part because it could no longer support the size of the Soviet Union, which is a corollary to your statement that they didn't have the military power we always thought they did either.

Russia is a mess financially. You can thank that damn black feller Obama in part for that for insisting that Putin and Company pay for their Ukraine smoke screen with sanctions, along with a toilet economy in Russia thanks to their love of a non-diversified economy based on oil.
