1. You're a point behind where you should be all game.
2. You try to go for 2 again to make it up and fail, falling even further behind.

Some teams believe that going for 2 every time averages out to their advantage in the end. Oregon for example. Yet, if they had just kicked the XPs at Nub, they'd have had a chance in OT.
