How can I when even the professional pollsters do not

use the exact methods? First of all do I just randomly sample people who are 18+, just registered voters, maybe likely voters.
Once that is done how many do I sample? Do I weight it by state electoral votes? By likelihood of voting? By strength of conviction?
How do I select those to poll? Phonebook? Randomly dialed numbers? Online? Do I choose them or are they self-selected?
