expose a candidate who masquerades as a "man of the people" like fat hillary when he is in fact a man of wealth and privilege.
And yes, if trump gave a billion to charity, the press would scrutinize which right wing, nationalist charities were beneficiaries of his racist largesse.
So imo, it's not a matter of avoiding or minimizing press reaction, that is a given, but it's information about a candidate for the presidency of the united states.
Like medical records, scholastic records, speech scripts and such. In and of themselves, not too exciting.
But it makes candidates vulnerable to lies told since college, for example.
