and its opinions would be less mumbo jumbo.

SCOTUS just needs wise, honest and fair people. Not people who have been working their way up through the political channels, and who, in return for their political appointment to the bench, will provide the judicial underpinnings to consolidate even more power in the hands of the bureaucrats in DC.

SCOTUS should only be hearing the very few federal appeals, from the very few cases that actually warrant federal jurisdiction. The cases should not be that important, and none of them should have any direct effect on anyone outside of the parties to the lawsuit which is appealed to SCOTUS.
