"In December 2013, the NCAA enforcement staff received information from a confidential source alleging potential violations of NCAA legislation involving a then men's basketball studentathlete. While investigating those allegations, the enforcement staff developed additional information in April 2014 regarding potential violations involving then prospective men's basketball student-athlete (student-athlete 1). While the original allegations involving the student athlete were not substantiated, the supplemental investigation regarding student-athlete 1 uncovered the proposed findings of fact outlined in the SDR."
So none of the initial 2013 allegations materialized and made it into the report. But digging into them led to the observation of other 'issues' right at the time Kim Anderson was hired and shortly after Haith left for a different job in April 2014. But all of the semi-significant reported violations came to light following Jakeenan Gant completing a summer intership several months later. Student Athlete 1 referenced is Gant, and the supplemental investigation referenced is what resulted in him sitting out the first 9 games of his freshman year which is not part of the reported investigation nor was anything found to have been done improperly. So the only thing that could even theoretically constitute the basis for the major investigation at the time Haith left and Kim was hired but not told of an investigation are the secondary violations surrounding the general manager at Tan Tara. Which is absurd to portray as a major violation and investigation.
