Claiming there is no militarization police is simply willful ignorance. The police departments nationwide, for the past 25 years, have been getting surplus equipment directly from the department of defense. Also, just do a google image search and see how the police are outfitted these days versus decades ago. The militarization is simply undeniable.
As for mass incarceration, I define it in plain terms. And under that plain understanding, the US is the most incarcerated country on the planet. More so than the dictator-led countries that we like to mock for their "lack of freedom".
As for this comment: "No one has ever gone to prison because a law was made. Individuals have only gone to prison for breaking a law." This is a terrible argument, and frankly not the point of this discussion. The laws, themselves, are immoral. You can justify just about any government action with the mindset that you have.
