We had a good season the year before, minus the shocking loss in the NCAAs. We had supposedly the "Coach of the Year" on the sidelines, with Dixon and Pressey on the roster.
In hindsight, its obvious that we were just running on the fumes of the Mike Anderson era and it was just a matter of time before we crashed.
The point is, expectations are not set in stone. They depend on where you're at, what your roster looks like, how you did the year before, etc...
There is reason for optimism, but it is not a short term projection. It's a 2-3 year trajectory. We're going to be better this year, and return a lot of upperclassmen the following season. As we get better, we will win more games. As we win more games, we will do better with recruiting...it's a process. This is the first year we get to see a purely Kim Anderson roster out there.
