Those two expectations are not at the same level.
Mizzou should expect to be tournament team every year. The years they don't make it are disappointments.
Since 1976, the only times Mizzou went more than two seasons without making the NCAAT were at the end of Norm's tenure, when Quin imploded, and the current streak. That's forty years where Mizzou was in it 25 times, nearly 2/3 of the time.
Expecting to make the NCCAT is the benchmark that Mizzou should expect on a yearly basis.
