I don't know what to think about Trump. He was at or near

the bottom of my list during the primaries and more than a few people were commenting that he seemed to be trying to blow up the Republican primary.
Some of the stuff he said was just so over the top that it didn't make much sense for a serious candidate to say such things.
But he won in pretty convincing fashion... so maybe he did know what he was doing...
But he alienated so many people that his negatives would likely keep him from winning... and he was insulting some of the people he should have been counting on to come on over to his side, at least eventually.
A lot of people expected him to pivot and start acting more presidential and start reading prepared speeches from a teleprompter... but he apparently wouldn't listen to his advisors per many reports and seemed to dig an even bigger hole at times.
Then, he finally did start looking and acting more presidential and reading better speeches from a teleprompter... and then he had the gig with the Mexican President all while Hillary has been floundering. Her email scandal just keeps on coming and her appearances seem to buttress the claims that her health is failing... and she shows up late to a sparsely populated rally looking like she just crawled out of bed, with dirty, oily hair, looking like death warmed over.
Then Trump seems to have gone more hard line again and ticked of the Mexican president enough that he calls Trump a liar... just when he seemed to have pulled off a big coup?
In some ways it feels like he's putting on just enough of a good show to make things look real, but then if he's gaining too much says something to alienate more people.
I agree he doesn't need this and it does seem like his ego would make him really want to win it all, but there is an additional possibility for his motivations. Perhaps his role was to be the fall guy, like the fighter who was just fodder for the predetermined champion.
I guess we'll see as time goes on, eh? ;)
