the right to protest. He has every right to do what he has done. What seems to be hard from some to grasp is that the public also has the right to comment or protest themselves.
Many do not understand first amendment rights. I am free to say what I want and the GOVERNMENT cannot sanction me for those statements. Private citizens or my employer are not so constrained.
Everyone has freedom of speech, we do not have freedom from the consequences of that speech.
I think the NFL is taking the correct approach to this issue but I cannot help but wonder if they would have the same hands-off stance if he were protesting against transgenders or same sexed marriage.
