hanging over this program for the next several years that will make turnover problematic. Just having a vacant scholarship will be more valuable than taking a flyer on a guy, and if you are the candidate tasked with a major rebuild its more attractive to know you have a bunch of flexibility and open scholarships at your disposal rather than the unpleasant task of trying to turn over an existing roster.
