I honestly am coming around to hoping we don't sign any more players at this point (Kemp seemed like a wasted scholarship to me) since we will most likely be hiring a new coach 7 months from now regardless. The more scholarships the new coaching staff has to play with the better.
As far as the roster, I think it is honestly in a pretty good place for the next head coach. You will have a nice core group of juniors and potentially some nice sophomores in your first season. You also have open scholarships and likely will add more based on the kids the new staff doesn't see being a fit (Kemp doesn't appear to be SEC caliber is an obvious choice). I think the next coaching staff could grab a solid core from what they will inherit and send the rest packing to add their players to that core as soon as possible.
One of the bigger mistakes KA made was trying to fill the roster with late signings when he took over and then sticking with those kids (going the transfer route would have made a lot of sense to stabilize the roster). You gotta be willing to take the lumps as you build with your players. Instead he moved forward with what he inherited and those late signings and now all of those kids are gone. So two seasons largely wasted. While I do like the core we have in place, it is just not talented/athletic/physical enough to win at this level.
