2014-15 vs 2016-17

Curious as to the board's thoughts strictly from a roster perspective comparing the two seasons. It seems to me that going position by position we had more assets / better players at each position in 2014-15 than we project to have this season:

PG
Shamburger (SR), Clark (SO), Isabell (FR) – vs - Phillips (SO), Geist (SO)

SG
Clark (SO), Wright (FR) – vs - Vanleer (SO), Walton (SO), Hughes (FR)

SF
Gill Ceasar (FR), Bello (JR), Allen (FR) – vs - Jackson (FR), Walton (SO)

PF
Williams (SO), Gant (FR) – vs - Puryear (SO), Barnett (JR), Wolf (SO)

C
Post (SR), Rosburg (JR) – vs - Woods (SR), Smith (FR), Nikko (FR)


All things being equal, I would expect 2014-15 to easily handle the 2016-17 team. But the effort, coaching, and roles were terrible in 2014-15 so I don't expect all things to be equal, and that is how we can surpass the results of 2014-15 despite having a weaker roster. Are there any positions in which in your opinion 2016-17 has an advantage?
