In the short-term (next 2-3 years),as long as our program remains stable, Mizzou should edge them out. In college basketball, having 6-7 upperclassmen on your roster is a huge advantage. For MU to be a below-average team in 2017-18 would indicate we have very poor talent, coaching, or both. With the exception of the lack of a proven big, Mizzou's current roster should be above average in the coming seasons.
Then it will depend on how 2017 and 2018 recruits pan out after that. SLU may very well be stronger if they recruit a better roster than MU. Of course that is more than just accumulating recruits with the most "stars". Ford will have to recruit the right pieces that can play together in his system, and avoid toxic personalities.
Mizzou will have 2-3 recruits for 2017, and then another 1-2 for 2018. It is entirely possible that Mizzou will bring in the right players such that they will continue to outpace SLU.
