is inherently expensive like travel, you can reasonably cut costs but going cheap is not an option unless you want to ruin the fun of even going.
It's like people that go out to eat but won't tip. That's part of the expense. If you don't have the dough, make some macaroni at home.
And I don't care either way...$140 for a room in Knoxville that doesn't rent by the hour is the definition of reasonable.
