to the Tennessee game and I agreed. Thought it would be a dude's weekend and he wants to bring his son, whose 14. Problem is, I haven't seen this buddy of mine in a long time, have never met his son and he thought we would share a hotel room.
Yesterday I told him that three was a crowd for a single hotel room and mainly because that's not only true, but his son is 14 and that's weird to me. Two beds, three dudes? Besides, I want my own room.
So I order a room for myself and provisionally reserve one for him and his son. It's not a cheap room but it's not real expensive either. Well, he emails me back says he thought I was kidding about getting separate rooms and he doesn't want to spend roughly $140 a night (all in) for two nights at this hotel.
I don't really want to stay at some ****hole and in fairness to me, I picked a Holiday Inn that was outside of town (since son being there means no drinking obviously).
I don't think he understands that room rates for SEC road games are not cheap. For one thing, if you want the possibility of cancelling, they surcharge you, plus taxes and all of a sudden a $100 room is $140, which is still cheap for a hotel.
Should I just back out? I'm thinking about asking another buddy, who I know has a daughter who goes there.
