Why do people always tell you to "enjoy it now?"

Because every single day with your kid is a new story. Beginning, middle, end. Often it challenges how you were brought up, the relationships you've made, how you think, what you think and why. The story may vary wildly or it may be a nice calm story. But every day is a story.

Right now - your kid cries you feed him. You burp him. You change him. You put him to sleep. You have like 4 choices to solve the problem.

Wait till he comes home, slams the door and tells you "You're not the right Dad for me." How do you face that?

Then one day you will wake up and story time will be over. A large part of heart will be - different. Then you will think "where did it go?"
