Not sure I quite get the take on the second comment. I think him staying says about all that needs to be said and nobody will care 2 weeks from now whether EE stood up publically defended himself.
EE's statement mentions 'areas he needs to improve on' and Hickman's mentions 'expectations going forward' - I think it's reasonably safe to assume there was legitimate areas of concern that were addressed in whatever discussions took place.
