He and EE actually didn't cross paths here.
Miller was head coach here from 1988-2002, 15 years, and had some success, but was fired by Mizzou in 2002 after 3 straight losing seasons. He was followed at Mizzou by Ty Singleton, who was here from 2003-2006. EE replaced Singleton in 2007.
Miller then was head coach at Mississippi State for 9 years, and had some success there too, but was fired from there in 2011 after 2 straight losing seasons. Now he is an assistant coach at Louisville, been there 4 years, the last 2 as their pitching coach. Interesting, because that's where Mizzou has apparently picked up a transfer pitcher, Madi Norman.
So while EE didn't cross paths with Miller, my understanding is he (and his wife, of course), we're not happy at all with his being fired from Mizzou and there was bad blood there and a grudge against the university. Which is why there was clearly a conflict of interest when his wife caused the ridiculous 'reprimand' from the NFCA. EE did nothing to deserve that reprimand, and it is meaningless. The things he was cited for are commonplace among many head coaches.
