average Mizzou team as a sophomore. He was able to succeed at Hawaii because the level of athleticism in the Big West is a huge step down and he wasn't near the defensive liability there as he would have been here. He was a good mid-major player. He would have been nothing more than a role player on an average Mizzou team. With that being said, he probably would have been our best or 2nd best player on any of Kim's terrible first 2 teams because we had mid-major level talent on those teams.
That list is full of good mid-major players. Stone, Paul, Jones, Jankvoic, and Rector all were mid-major level players. 2 on that list were good P5 players (Bowers and Lawrence). I put Puryear as a good player but until he does it on an actual winning team I think he is still an unknown.
And we can squabble over whether it's 10% or 20% but the fact is that being a 150+ rank GREATLY reduces your odds of being a major contributor on a good Mizzou team.
