Actually basketball is very big in Africa, I've wondered the same thing. Look at Colleges in the US and the Pros they are littered with very good players and talent. I'm assuming that they aren't all concentrated in one country and spread out all over the continent. Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Mali, and Sudan have produced some good pros over the years and a lot of well known college players.
