There was some initial somewhat irrational optimism and momentum, and it just got slammed shut right out of the gate with what ended up being the worst home loss in program history. To a large degree, the casual fan never gave the program a chance after that and completely tuned it out and the cratering has only re-enforced those initial notions. That certainly goes for the students as well.

Last year we destroyed our all time worst attendance numbers, and we will be very fortunate this season if we even approach those dreadful numbers. You can't recruit in that environment and with so much apathy surrounding the program. It was a HUGE uphill battle for Mike Anderson to try and get over what the latter Quin years did to fan support, and this next staff is going to have a threefold more difficult situation.
