Point one. As has been stated above you have no well controlled studies to support that athletic performance, and yes I 'think' thats the goal we both have here, is improved by your suggestions with regard to diet & nutrition, none.
Secondly, I never accused you of saying 'we shouldn't be feeding athletes red meat.' What you are proposing is radical with no evidence that the way we approach this topic has failed so why spend money on expensive coconut water when, last time I checked we were using a mixture many times of gatorade & water in most cases.
As far as the health of the athletes, dare I say they are in the prime of their lives and are healthy now. To give them 'so much more for their health' is something we should do when they quit playing or use up their eligibility, especially since many become inactive.
Maybe Krinky, you can teach a nutrition class for the seniors and get them going on natural food ? Great. I'm sure they'd pay attention & remember how good seeds, coconut oil, gravel & bark off trees are, and incorporate their lifestyle. The field is changing so don't sweat it. I can remember a time when steak & peaches was the pregame meal of choice.
An attention starved person like yourself, should next look at the quality of helmets used today and figure out how to lessen the rate of head & spinal injuries, concussions and the like before someone puts a stop to the game like Roosevelt did about 100 years ago.
Then you truly would get the attention and credit you deserve, or think you deserve.
