play overseas immediately after high school. If a player is good enough, they can always come back to the US and play in the NBA. Regardless, they are making more money than college. If not eventually making it to the NBA, they can make a decent living overseas. This notion that 1 or 2 years of college education while playing basketball is somehow going to help them out financially is bunk. If after playing overseas, they can always go back to college. Think about if you were in college as a regular student and a company approached you offering to pay $300,000 if you quit school to come work for them early.
