That cuts both ways, silly boy.
Had he meant what you say he meant... in contradiction to what he himself said that he meant, he could have easily said something along the lines of "If she gets elected the only way to stop her might be with a bullet."
You also give only part of his quote, which is quite misleading. Was that on purpose?

NOW, if what he "meant" was to defeat HRC at the polls, why would that be a terrible day, eh?
Note that there was no period after "that would be a terrible day, but rather a comma.:
