I think there's still a fair amount of false narratives that get created and work, just as I think there are a number of counter-false narratives that are created to offset them. I'd agree with you that media credibility and impartiality would seem to be at an all-time low, at least in terms of perception.

The 538 article is interesting, as is looking at their now-cast polling. Right after the Rep. convention, MO was 95-5 in favor of Trump. Now it's 57-43. Has there really been that big a shift? I doubt it, but it's curious as to whether that's the same people giving different opinions or if they just called a different subset of people for their poll.
