When you say "we have to keep our guys" I take it to mean you don't want criminals on the team either but will allow some crap. OK. When something like the DBG incident happened, I was more ****ed at the kid & his teammates for that than Pinkel for letting him go - not knowing the inside poop. And if you think you do - feel free.
I will give you a little anecdote here. My brother in law played for OU in the mid '80's and won at least one National Championship for them. He told me if you look at his class, they had good character kids on the team. Guys that ran 4.6 that were character type guys. Guys like Brock Olivo who played for us.
When they got better they started recruiting the 4.4 guys, ghetto kids in terms of attitude and lights out athletes. Basically he said they went down hill b/c of that type of kid. The Buster Rhymes, shoot your ouzi types. Thats not meant to be racial but just a comment on character.
We're not OU, Mixon doesn't play for us. If it was up to you - would he ?
