submission and performance, performance alone does not fulfill the obligation. You understand there are authority figures above you, to whom you must answer, for the good of the whole. As long as the things you are asked to do are not illegal nor immoral, it is incumbent upon you to acquiesce to the demands of your superiors, as part of the agreement.
This is how it works in the adult world. If you sacrifice things like family time to get a greater gain later, that isn't on your superiors. That is what these young men do. They've made quality of life decisions based upon their perception of the long term benefits, and have forgone other opportunities, sometimes at the expense of putting family or their self first, in order to reap the later rewards. That you have buyers remorse later is not an indication that the leadership did anything wrong. It was all part of the agreement at the start. Suck it up, fulfill your obligations, and move on.
