Corey Tate was hired because of AAU connections, just as Fulford was hired due to Huntington Prep connections - as well as their ability to coach. Corey had been highly successful at Mineral Area - I have no doubt that he can coach, but it just didn't work out here with the AAU connections.

Just because there have been racial issues at Mizzou and just because this guy happens to be black does not make it a truism that he was hired because he was black. He has a decent resume, D-1 Assistant experience, and connections to basketball hotbeds. Look beyond race and it looks like he's more than qualified. He's not the flashy splash recruiter that everyone's saying is the hottest commodity, but quite frankly, would you expect us to be able to hire that guy at this point? Would you want us to on the heels of Tim Fuller fiasco?
