She would have been very unlikely to contribute...

much of anything to the team in 2017, For goodness sakes she only pitched 38 innings this year, was 0-3, with a 5.39 ERA, and could barely make it out of the first inning in several of the last starts EE gave her. It's just a remarkably sad story of a prep phenom who had 2 great seasons in the SEC, then suffered an awful injury that she never seemed to recover from emotionally. Add to that that she was increasingly fragile and suffered injury after injury, large and small, from her freshman season on.
Not sure what Minnesota thinks they are getting in her. She has just one season left, and based on this season is hardly an effective D1 pitcher who a team could use in any game of significance. She is going to a school that has senior AA Sara Groenewegen, who is a workhorse, pitched 234 innings this year, 336 strikeouts and only 55 walks, 2.03 ERA. Their #2 pitcher pitched just 82 innings and was a senior. Their #3 pitcher threw just 47 innings. They have a huge hole to fill when Groenewegen graduates after the 2017 season, so they are bringing in 3 freshmen pitchers this year, one is the Minnesota player of the year. That pitcher alone is certainly healthier than Finucane and a much better likelihood of contributing than Finicane.
Of all the transfers, the only likely significant contributor on the field to Mizzou in 2017 was Lowary. Of course we all know that one transfer puts Mizzou at a huge competitive disadvantage next year. Barring a late, surprise transfer, we need a huge contributions right away from FR Parker Conrad who needs to step in a pitch at an ace level if Mizzou is going to still be a top 20 team. And Baumgartner needs to keep improving and step into the #2 role. It's a lot to have to count on.
The reputation of the team is the biggest loser here, as the transfers add up. EE signed 3 high school pitchers with great reputations to continue Mizzous excellence in the post Chelsea Thomas era, and they are now all gone after 1, 2, and 3 seasons, respectively. Each had their own reasons for leaving, which we may or may not ever know. But you wonder if EE is doing any self introspection at this point about how he handled the pitchers that were so critical to the programs success. Clearly something went really wrong with this years team, judging by the turmoil that went on. Housecleaning was in order, so we can move forward, and it looks now that the ones who had any issue with EE are gone. And I don't mean every transfer had issues, several of them said they were simply looking for more playing time and left in good standing.
