at KState, which had the very worst winning percentage of any major college when he took over. They had won only one championship...in the 30's. Today there is a respectable stadium in Manhattan with his name on it, and rightfully so, because the capacity was almost doubled in his tenure. Their stadium, and program, was laughable before Snyder took over.
Pinkel did a good job at Mizzou, but our university had a track record that included thirteen conference championships (which GP did not add to) and seven major bowl trips (which GP also did not add to). Memorial Stadium has been upgraded, but the capacity did not increase one seat in GP's stewardship...it remains what it was when he became coach...71K. We haven't even recouped the lost capacity from the 70's, when 75,500+ attended the Mizzou / Penn St. Game in 1978.
You also have to consider that Larry Smith accomplished quite a bit that made GP's job much easier than Snyder's.
You need a longer historical perspective to make the claims you're making, and your perspective is too limited.
