You play your pod every year, three games. You play another pod every year, which rotates. Four games. You have a designated rival outside your pod, and a secondary rival in another pod - you play your rival in that game (or your secondary rival if you happen to play in your first rivals pod that year) - one game.

Eight games. Half of them are teams you play every year. The rest of the teams in conference you get to play at least once every three years.

Winners of each pod play in conference semifinals, then finals
