W. Soccer. Soccer Opens Season at Penn State Invitational This Weekend

The Mizzou soccer team officially opens its 2014 season with a pair of games at the Penn State Invitational this weekend. The Tigers open the year against Syracuse on Friday, Aug. 22 at 4 p.m. CT, then play No. 12 West Virginia on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. CT.

M. Basketball. Mizzou Basketball's Sprint Center Tickets On Sale Now

Tickets for Mizzou Basketball's doubleheader at the Sprint Center in Kansas City are on sale now through the Sprint Center Box Office. Fans can purchase tickets to see Mizzou Women's Basketball take on Missouri State at 4 p.m. on Dec. 30 followed by the Men's game against Oklahoma State, tipping off at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

Missouri ranked 24th in initial AP poll

After finishing last season fifth, Missouri will head into 2014 still ranked in the Associated Press poll.

As announced last month, Mizzou volleyball will be appearing all season on NCAA.com All-Access. The first episode of the series is up and it chronicles the Tigers as they get their first batch of Nike gear!

W. Volleyball. Mizzou Volleyball Opens Season With Black & Gold Wednesday

The defending SEC Champion Mizzou volleyball team will officially kick off its 2014 season with the annual Black & Gold Scrimmage on Wednesday (Aug. 20) at the Hearnes Center. As always, the Tigers will host a youth clinic prior to the scrimmage. The clinic will begin at 4:45 p.m. with registration beginning at 4:15 inside the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse. Registration for the clinic is free as children will have a chance to play volleyball with the Tigers.

Baseball. Lester, Bone Win Respective Summer Leagues

Two Mizzou baseball players - Josh Lester (Columbus, Ga.) and Logan Bone (Festus, Mo. - won championships with their respective Summer League teams last week. Lester and the Y-D Red Sox won the Cape Cod League, which is often recognized as the top summer ball league last Friday night (Aug. 15). Bone and the Quincy Gems also won the 2014 Prospect League Championship last Wednesday (Aug. 13).

W. Swimming. Reedy Shines at USA Diving AT&T National Championships

Three Mizzou divers competed at the 2014 USA Diving AT&T Senior National Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., last week. Junior Lauren Reedy shone at the meet, as she qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials with a fourth-place finish on 3-meter.
