The Biden admin forced climate change requirements, DEI hiring requirements, stringent "health and safety" requirements, etc., plus higher energy and materials costs. Those costs are coming down, but more slowly than the commodity prices, which are returning to historical norms after Bidenflation subsides. Their plight is short-term. That doesn't make it any less real, but it makes options to help them more clear.
