I am not sure if you read the article or not. Signing the contract means his baseball career at Mizzou is done. I have no idea how the contract reads, but I am guessing the Dodgers probably are not interested in Horn playing for two more seasons.
I think it's kind of obvious as to some reasons Horn might not stay for next season, which is what you asked.
"Most players who sign professional contracts will join their respective organizations in the new year, reporting to spring training complexes in January or February. That means that Horn can remain with Mizzou football through the end of this season."
