In 1965, Mizzou beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl and was ranked #6 at the end of the season, just 2 behind Alabama and 4 behind Arkansas (which was in the SWC at the time) and ahead of every other SEC team. The SEC would have been lucky to have Mizzou in that era.
