I get a this day in history update and today was the first atomic bomb. First tested in New Mexico . Less than two months later US dropped the first A-bomb on Hiroshima.

Years ago I bought a company from a St Louis guy and his first job was as an Army Air Corp pilot and he was one of the first Americans into Japan after their surrender. That would have been different Guess you had to hope the surrender was accepted He had been bombing Japan with conventional bombs from Tinian Island--where the Enola Gay took off with the first A-bomb
